August 2nd, 2017, Lord John Savile was reunited with the recently recomissioned 107" Land Rover station wagon in which he used to ride in as a boy in the 60,s whilst attending the shoot around Walshaw on the vast Savile estate near Hebden Bridge , here seen also with Lady Barbara Savile, on the Grouse moors at Widdup .
As a boy the current Lord, John used to ride in the back with the dogs and the then Lord George Savile would ride in the second row seating with a rack holding the guns in front of him .
The Land Rover was always chauffer driven and when not in use was garaged at Walshaw.
Members of the aristocracy would travel from all over the country to enjoy the shooting parties and the genourous hospitality provided.
Lord George Savile was a very good friend of Raine the daughter of Barbara Cartland the famous author and socialite who later became Countess Spencer the stepmother of Lady Diana Spencer , princess of Wales.
