    • A land Rover series 2a for sale is stood outside the showroom in the yard at Jake Wright Land rover

The pictures and text below refers to the one we have just SOLD .

Previously refurbished this Classic land rover is a very useable example and is a joy to drive. The 2.25 petrol engine starts and pulls well , the clutch operates smoothly and the gearbox gearbox which has synchromesh on 3rd and 4th changes gear very nicely.

The  steering is very precise and the brakes are excellent.

The bulkhead is in excellent condition also and has previously been fitted with new footwells.

The chassis is also in excellent order and it appears as though it was replaced at the time of the refurb.

New period looking tyres have recently been fitted onto newly painted wheels.

Free wheeling front hubs are fitted to the front axle which help with fuel economy

The road springs and shockabsorbers are all very good so giving a good ride.

The body work has very nice straight panels , excellent doors etc and whilst not concourse condition really looks the part with it's traditional bronze green paintwork

The canvas tilt which is removable is in as new conditiion and the sdes and rear can be rolled up for those sunny days

The seats are all in excellent condition and 2 bench seats are fitted in the rear.

All the details are correct on this Land Rover with the seperate wiper motors corect steering wheel and horn push ,bonnet mounted spare wheel, etc .

The plate attached to the bulkhead sugests that the land rover was an ex army vehicle when new .

All in all this is a very nice useable classic Land Rover ideal for taking the dog out  or for Sunday afternoons out with the kids.

This model is one of my favourites and this series 2A must be the model which made Land Rover into the worldwide favourite of armies and enthusiasts all over the world. !
