1972 Land Rover Series 3 Airportable or Lightweight as they became commonly known.

This one is a land rover which we sold quite a few years ago and was later sold on by the owner to one of his near neighbours .

It has retained a lot of its orginal army features including-

Original ID plates on the seat box and bulkhead.

Army type lights and headlamps

Front and rear bumperettes

Bridgeing plate (yellow disk used to show the weight of vehcles prior to crossing bridges)

Original Steering column shroud 

Original Wiper motor cover

Rear external toolbox

Two piece rear tailgate

Flat type smiths heater 

Correct type front seats 

Two rear bench seats.

The last owner who we bought the land rover from was a retired gentleman and he carried out an extensive strip down and refurbishment of the vehicle with some help from his local garage when necessary .

This land rover Lightweight has had new rear chassis crossmember of the original type and outrigggers  as well as a host of other items , including a stainless steel exhaust and there is also a comprehensive folder full of receipts.

A drop plate and tow ball hav been fitted to the rear as well as 7 pin electrics and a tow ball has been fitted to the front to allow manouvering of trailers .

Mudflaps are fitted all around to protect the chasis and body from stone chips 

A heritage certificate comes with the Land rover showing that it was built on 20th september 1972 and it was depatched to central army Vehicle depot , Hilton in Derbyshire .

As you will see from the pics the bodywork is excellent and all the panels are perfectly straight and a new coat of olive green paint has been applied .

This drives as well as it looks with no issues and this one has a 12 volt electrical sytem .

A new Exmoor canvas tilt was fitted and the vehicle has been dry stored with its previous owner as well as the last one .

As with all the vehicles that leave here they will all be serviced , workshop prepared, etc and will always leave here better than when they arrived !

This vehicle is exempt from charges in all clean air zones (LEZ) including London LEZ and ULEZ  !!!

Also is Road Tax exempt  !
