My name is John wright and I have always had an interest in all things mechanical having had a grandad who was a highly skilled engineer working with companies such as the famous Scott Motorcycle Company of Bradford.

My father joined the RAF during WW2 where he worked on the infamous Spitfire fighter aircraft. I trained to be a mechanical engineer, soon becoming interested in Landrovers and at the age of 18 rebuilt my first series I (ex army) '86.

One thing led to another and with help and ecouragement from my mother and father it was decided to buy some ex army landrovers which we then refurbished and put up for sale.
From a hobby and based on an engineering background Jake Wright Ltd was formed in 1973.
